My Money I Plan

When we uttered the words “women” and “investments” in a go, we came across quite a few raised eyebrows and quite a bit of sarcasm. There were frowns also. But times have changed and changing faster.

Money Mashup, a daylong event on money management organised by Spink Turtle Media for the women of Aptech Ltd is self-standing evidence of the shift.

Here we had a woman who has wanted to learn about equities ever since her husband started investing part of her salary in mutual funds. But she has been “told by men in my family that it’s not my cup of tea!” Many other women present, nodded as she told her story.

Then there was a 20-something who has been investing for a couple of years now. Someone else is about to finalise a deal to buy a house. So they are there. The others are craving to get there.

MoneyQuin has always believed in this change and came into being to bring it to the forefront. Yet we beg not to be mistaken as a feminist movement. In very simple words, we want the women to be aware of what’s happening to their hard earned money.

We want women to raise their levels of awareness on money matters so that they become active participants in decision making of investments of their as well as family’s money.

It was in line with this ideology that on 31 January we organised Money Mashup. This was also the beginning of a series of such events which we plan to conduct at corporate houses which will be in the nature of interactive sessions on financial management. If you are associated with a company which may be interested in such an event, you may write to us at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Now let me leave all you girls with some food for thought. If you can so smartly and intelligently handle numbers and other assignments in your offices, why should financial management be something like a monster that hung around under your bed when you were a kid?
